Sadie Sink’s Secret ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Character Gets First Major Tease
Fans are still trying to figure out who Sadie Sink will play in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and a new description of her character has only added more questions.
A recently shared promotional article from Chinese outlet Sohu offered what may be the first description of Sink’s role in the upcoming Marvel film. According to the article, her character is a mysterious figure whose identity has not yet been revealed.
The description states: “A mysterious figure, whose true identity remains unknown, is also lurking in the shadows: its allegiances are uncertain.”
While the description does not reveal any specific details, it matches the secrecy that has surrounded Sink’s casting since she joined the project earlier this year. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have not officially announced who she is playing.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and will continue Peter Parker’s story several years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker and also brings back Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. Other cast members include Jon Bernthal as the Punisher and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.
Since Sink’s casting was announced, fans have been debating whether she could be playing a hero, a villain, or someone completely unexpected. The latest reports suggest there may be a major surprise connected to her character.
According to insider reports attributed to My Time To Shine Hello, Sink’s role reportedly includes a significant twist. The same reports claim that early test screening reactions described her character as one of the standout parts of the movie.
Entertainment site Geek Tyrant also reported on those claims, stating that Sink’s role is said to feature a major MCU-related twist. However, these reports have not been confirmed by Marvel Studios, Sony Pictures, or anyone officially involved with the film.
As a result, fans are treating the information as speculation until more details are released.
One theory continues to dominate discussions online. Many fans believe Sink could be playing Jean Grey, one of the most famous characters from Marvel’s X-Men comics.
The idea gained attention after industry insider Jeff Sneider suggested that Sink might be connected to the role. Later, Deadline reported that Jean Grey had become one of the most popular theories among fans and industry observers following Sink’s casting announcement.
The speculation has become even stronger because Marvel has slowly been laying the groundwork for mutants to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even so, there is still no official confirmation that Jean Grey will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Earlier this year, Sink addressed some of the rumors during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Responding to fan theories that focused on her appearance, she joked that her hair color should not be seen as proof of anything.
“Hair color can change,” Sink said, while encouraging fans to wait for official information.
For now, Marvel is keeping the mystery alive. Whether Sink is playing Jean Grey, a villain, or someone entirely new, fans may have to wait until Spider-Man: Brand New Day gets closer to release before they finally learn the truth.
