Scarlett Johansson Reveals the Role She Chased for 20 Years but Never Landed: “Nobody Has Booked Me”
Scarlett Johansson has a pretty big dream, but it might surprise you because it sounds more like something a kid would want. She really wants to be a Disney princess. She even told The New York Times that her young daughter shares this dream with her. Scarlett admitted that it probably won’t happen, but she still thinks about it.
Most of the famous princesses in those movies are teenagers, so Scarlett might be getting a bit too old to play someone like Snow White.
Still, people say that anything can happen in Hollywood. She has actually been trying to get a princess role for about two decades. She once said, I’ve been asking for that job for the past 20 years, and nobody has booked me.
She did get close one time when she voiced Princess Mindy in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. However, that wasn’t quite the same as wearing the fancy dresses and being a real Disney icon. It is a bit strange that she hasn’t been picked yet because she can definitely sing. She has put out her own albums and sang in movies like Sing and The Jungle Book.
There was a rumor that she might join the live-action Tangled movie, but not as the princess. Instead, she was supposed to play the mean villain Mother Gothel. That would have put her in a Disney fairy tale, but she ended up leaving that project.
Since the princess dream is on hold, Scarlett is working on much scarier movies now. Her daughter definitely won’t be allowed to watch her upcoming roles in the next Exorcist movie or The Batman Part II. Maybe she will get to wear a crown one day, but for now, she is sticking to much darker stories.
