‘Scream 7’ Trailer Brings Terror Back to Sidney Prescott and Her Daughter
Ghostface is back, and Sidney Prescott is in danger again. The first trailer for Scream 7 shows the classic slasher terror returning as Sidney’s daughter becomes the next target. Neve Campbell is back as Sidney, and the film is set to hit theaters on February 27, Paramount Pictures confirmed.
The teaser revisits past Scream moments, featuring quick clips from earlier movies. Ghostface, voiced by Roger L. Jackson, is planning another deadly game. This time, Sidney’s daughter Tatum, played by Isabel May, is caught in the killer’s path. Scream 7 promises suspense, scares, and a continuation of the franchise’s legacy.

Several familiar faces are returning. Courteney Cox is back as reporter Gale Weathers, and twins Mindy and Chad, played by Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding, return from previous installments. Surprisingly, former Ghostface killers Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard) and Roman Bridger (Scott Foley) also appear.
David Arquette returns as Dewey Riley, despite his character’s on-screen death in Scream (2022). The cast also includes Joel McHale as Sidney’s husband Mark, Anna Camp, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons, and Mark Consuelos.
The film is directed by Kevin Williamson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Guy Busick and served as writer on the early films. Williamson steps into the director’s role for the first time in the series. Scream 7 faced several changes during production. Stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega left the project after controversial circumstances, and director Christopher Landon exited as well. Campbell confirmed her return in March 2024, and filming ran from January to March 2025.
The plot follows Sidney Prescott in Pine Grove, Indiana. She has built a new life, but the arrival of a new Ghostface killer targeting her daughter forces her to confront the past and fight once more.
The Scream franchise has been thrilling fans for decades, and this new installment looks like it could be the most intense yet. Bringing back past killers and familiar faces adds a fun nostalgia factor while giving the story fresh stakes with Sidney’s daughter in danger. I’m curious how the new Ghostface compares to the old ones. What do you think about the trailer and the upcoming movie? Share your thoughts in the comments.
