Pascal Duvier is finally speaking out about the hotel incident in Brazil that involved singer Chappell Roan and actor Jude Law’s family. The security professional, known for working with stars like Kim Kardashian, posted a statement on March 25 to clear up what he says are widespread misunderstandings.

The situation happened on March 21 at a luxury hotel in São Paulo. Catherine Harding and her husband, soccer player Jorginho, were having breakfast with Harding’s 11-year-old daughter, Ada Law, when they saw a security guard approach them aggressively.

The family claims that Ada had only smiled at Roan from across the room, but ended up in tears because of the confrontation. Duvier, however, insists the story being shared online is not accurate.

He clarified that he was not hired to protect Roan during the trip and that he was actually providing security for another guest at the hotel. “I do not normally address online rumors,” he said in his Instagram post. “My sole interaction with the mother was calm and with good intentions.”

According to Duvier, his actions were based on safety concerns and data provided by the hotel, not Roan or her management. He took responsibility for the encounter but denied that it was aggressive.

“I was acting independently and not under anyone’s instruction,” he added, stressing that the incident was regrettable but misrepresented in the media. Chappell Roan herself also weighed in, confirming that she had no knowledge of the incident at the time.

“I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child,” she said, backing Duvier’s claim that he was not part of her personal security team. Roan explained that she was just having breakfast and didn’t see anyone near her table.

Jorginho, meanwhile, has said that the guard’s behavior was excessive and unnecessary. The conflicting accounts have fueled social media discussions, though Duvier and Roan’s statements suggest the situation was more complex than initially reported.

Roan was in Brazil to perform at Lollapalooza alongside Tyler, the Creator, and Sabrina Carpenter. While the hotel incident drew significant attention, it was just a small part of her visit, which was primarily focused on her music.

Duvier’s statement aims to defend his professional reputation and clarify that the confrontation should not reflect poorly on Roan. Both the singer and the security expert appear committed to separating this isolated incident from her public image.
