‘Shin Ikki Tousen’ Manga Returns After Long Hiatus

The original Ikki Tousen manga series by Yūji Shiozaki was published from 2000 to 2015. This martial arts manga with some ecchi elements never became a proper mainstream title, but it has a solid legacy and has been adapted more than once.

As of the time of writing, a sequel manga, also by Shiozaki, titled Shin Ikki Tousen is being published, although fans of the series might probably know that the series has been on a hiatus since 2024.

Well, in light of that, we are happy to share some good news with the fans of the series in our report!

Namely, we can confirm that the ninth issue of Shonengahosha’s Young King Bull magazine, which was released recently, confirmed that the Shin Ikki Tousen manga is returning after a hiatus on April 21, 2025. As said, the manga has been on a hiatus since 2024.

The manga has been published since 2015 and currently has five volumes, which is a result of various circumstances, including the aforementioned hiatus.

The series is a continuation of Shiozaki’s original series, following a new generation of fighters set in the same fictional universe. A three-episode anime adaptation of Shin Ikki Tousen has been released in 2022 and is available for streaming.
