Sophie Turner Stuns Fans With Dramatic Transformation 14 Years After ‘Game of Thrones’ Debut
Sophie Turner turned heads with a bold new look at the Newport Beach Film Festival UK & IE Honours at Raffles in London on Thursday night. The 29-year-old actress stunned fans by debuting a rich “truffle brunette” hair color, a dramatic change from her usual blonde locks.
For the star-studded event, Turner wore a dark green leather jacket paired with a matching mini skirt and sleek black leather boots. She completed the look with minimal accessories, letting her hair and outfit make the statement. Turner was all smiles as she accepted the Artist of Distinction award, sharing the honor with other notable names such as Sam Claflin and Timothy Spall.
The awards ceremony came at a brief break in what has been a very busy schedule for Turner. She has spent the past week filming high-intensity action sequences for the upcoming Tomb Raider series. Just days before the festival, she was spotted performing a dramatic knife fight in the rain and making a daring escape on a motorcycle alongside co-star Martin Bobb-Semple.

Taking on the role of Lara Croft has been physically demanding for Turner. She has been in intense training for over a year, which revealed a recurring back problem during the long eight-hour workouts.
Despite the challenges, she has embraced the experience. “It’s nice to learn how to throw a punch rather than just being the one who gets beaten up,” she said, referencing her years on Game of Thrones.
The new Tomb Raider series, which will stream on Amazon Prime Video, is created by Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Turner expressed confidence in the script and the overall production, noting that the security measures on set are “even crazier than Game of Thrones.”
The show promises an exciting cast, including Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip, Lara’s tech-savvy friend, and Jason Isaacs as her uncle, Atlas DeMornay. Fans are also eager to see Sigourney Weaver in the role of Evelyn Wallis, a mysterious woman determined to exploit Lara’s unique abilities.
Turner’s work isn’t limited to action roles. She is also starring in the thriller Steal, where she plays a master thief named Zara Dunne, and she will appear in the period drama The Dreadful. Recently, she received praise for her lead performance in the crime drama Joan, portraying real-life diamond thief Joan Hannington.
Between her fashion-forward red carpet appearances and intense physical roles, Turner has shown that she is not just a talented actress but also one of the hardest-working performers of her generation.
