Stephen Amell is already getting attention for the upcoming Baywatch reboot, and it’s easy to see why. The 44-year-old actor was recently spotted filming beach scenes in Malibu and Venice Beach, showing off a very fit and toned look while wearing the classic red lifeguard trunks.

People gathered around the set as filming took place on March 19, with many watching Amell step into his role as a lifeguard leader. He looked confident on the sand, fully in character as the new face of the series.

He wasn’t alone. Shay Mitchell, Noah Beck, and Jessica Belkin were also seen filming scenes throughout the day. Some of them wore the official lifeguard outfits, while others were in more casual looks between takes.

Social media personalities Hannah Stocking and Livvy Dunne were also part of the shoot, showing that the cast mixes traditional actors with newer online stars.

According to details shared by Variety, the story connects to the original Baywatch series but adds a new twist. “The wild child Hobie Buchannon we all loved from the original series is now a Baywatch captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Mitch.”

The story also brings in a personal surprise for Amell’s character. “Hobie’s world is turned upside down when Charlie, the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy.”

Jessica Belkin plays Charlie, while other cast members include Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck, Shay Mitchell, and Livvy Dunne in different roles within the lifeguard team. The reboot keeps some connection to the past through a familiar character as well.

“Now runs The Shoreline, the unofficially official Baywatch bar-and-grill, and still puts on the red trunks for the occasional shift saving lives.” The place is described as “a mentor to and a friend, providing a second home for his fellow lifeguards… and always offering free wings after a big save.”

Fox officially approved the show in September 2025 with a 12-episode order. The series is expected to air during the 2026 to 2027 TV season. Amell’s role in this project comes after his recent work in Suits LA, where he played the lead. Before that, he was best known for playing Oliver Queen in Arrow for eight seasons, a role that required intense physical training.

That experience clearly helped prepare him for this new part. He has also worked on films like Code 8 Part II, which he made with his cousin Robbie Amell. His career often focuses on action-heavy roles that show off his fitness and stunt work.

Other cast members bring their own fan bases to the show. Shay Mitchell is well known from Pretty Little Liars and You, while Noah Beck and Livvy Dunne are popular online personalities who are now moving into TV roles.

Filming is still ongoing across different beaches in Southern California, and interest in the reboot keeps growing. With a mix of action, drama, and a connection to the original series, the new Baywatch aims to bring back the fun beach vibe while adding new storylines for today’s audience.
