DC Studios has confirmed that the first trailer for Supergirl will drop tomorrow at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT/5 p.m. BST. Along with the trailer news, fans got to see the first poster for the film, featuring the tagline: “Truth, Justice, Whatever.” The line hints that Supergirl may have a very different attitude from her cousin, Superman.

Adding to the excitement, it has been announced that Ramin Djawadi, known for his work on Game of Thrones, will compose the film’s score.

Supergirl is the second movie in the newly branded DC Universe (DCU) and stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El. She joins a cast that includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa. The story follows Kara as she travels across the galaxy on a quest for revenge.

The film is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. It is produced by DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. This project is based on the 2021–22 comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely.

Milly Alcock’s Supergirl differs from her cousin Clark Kent, having grown up on a fragment of destroyed Krypton and witnessed the death of those around her. This has shaped her into a more hardened character. In the film, she even spends time on planets with red suns where her powers are limited. Fans will also see her dog, Krypto, return from the upcoming Superman movie.

Other notable cast members include Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, a young girl Supergirl meets on her journey, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Ferdinand Kingsley as Ruthye’s father, Elias Knoll.

Filming took place earlier this year at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England, as well as locations in London and Scotland. Supergirl is set to hit theaters in the United States on June 26, 2026, as part of the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
