Sydney Sweeney swapped the red carpet for the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, February 9, ringing the opening bell alongside American Eagle to celebrate the brand’s new spring denim collection.

The 28-year-old actress smiled for cameras on the iconic NYSE balcony and walked the trading floor with CEO Jay Schottenstein as the launch kicked off. For the occasion, Sweeney went full denim, showing off head-to-toe pieces from American Eagle.

She first appeared in Dreamy Drape Super High-Waisted Baggy Wide-Leg Jeans with an Everyday Denim Shirt and a leather hook belt. Later, she changed into a custom denim dress with a corset-style bodice and detailed seaming, blending casual and high-fashion vibes.

The appearance comes after her viral “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans” campaign, which reportedly boosted American Eagle’s stock by more than 15% last year. By ringing the bell, Sweeney joined other big-name celebrities who have opened the market, like Serena Williams and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

It’s a reminder that her influence reaches far beyond Hollywood. As of February, Sweeney is one of the busiest stars in entertainment. Her psychological thriller The Housemaid, which premiered in late 2025, has been a hit both in theaters and on streaming platforms.

She stars as Millie Calloway, a woman who takes a mysterious job for a wealthy couple played by Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar. The film, directed by Paul Feig, has been praised for its suspense and has cemented Sweeney as a modern scream queen.

She’s also preparing for a dramatic role in an upcoming biopic about 1990s boxing champion Christy Martin. The film, directed by David Michôd, will follow Martin’s rise in boxing and her struggles outside the ring. Sweeney has been training hard for the role and will take on a grittier, athletic look that’s very different from her glamorous image.

In addition, she’s set to produce and star in a high-concept remake of the sci-fi classic Barbarella, a project that’s been in the works for several years. Outside of acting, Sweeney recently launched her own lingerie brand, Syrn, in January. The launch included a daring stunt where she scaled the Hollywood Sign to display pieces from her collection, a move that quickly went viral and made headlines.

“It’s exciting to explore all these different parts of my career at once,” Sweeney told reporters during the NYSE event. She’s clearly balancing acting, business, and high-fashion partnerships with ease.
