28 Days Later (Franchise)
The 28 Days Later film series is a post-apocalyptic horror franchise based on an original idea by Alex Garland. It follows the outbreak of the Rage Virus, a highly contagious infection that turns people violent and leads to the collapse of society after it spreads from a lab in England.
The first film, 28 Days Later (2002), was a critical and commercial success and is often credited with revitalizing and reshaping the modern zombie genre. Its sequel, 28 Weeks Later (2007), also performed well and received positive reviews.
The series later continued with 28 Years Later (2025) and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026), with another sequel currently in development. The franchise has also expanded into comics and graphic novels, building a wider connected universe.
