E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (Film)
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is a 1982 science fantasy film directed by Steven Spielberg that follows a young boy named Elliott who befriends a stranded alien and helps him find a way home. Starring Henry Thomas, Dee Wallace, and Drew Barrymore, the film became a massive box office success and was briefly the highest-grossing movie of all time. It earned widespread critical acclaim, received nine Academy Award nominations, and won four Oscars, including Best Original Score and Best Visual Effects. Today, E.T. is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential films ever made and is preserved in the U.S. National Film Registry.
