Gremlins is an American comedy-horror franchise produced by Warner Bros. and Amblin Entertainment, centered on creatures called mogwai that transform into mischievous gremlins when their care rules are broken. The franchise began with the 1984 film *Gremlins*, written by Chris Columbus and directed by Joe Dante, followed by *Gremlins 2: The New Batch* in 1990. It has since expanded into video games, an animated prequel series, merchandise, and a third theatrical film scheduled for 2028.
