Star Wars prequel trilogy
The Star Wars prequel trilogy, created by George Lucas and released from 1999 to 2005, tells the story of Anakin Skywalker’s journey from a young Jedi apprentice to his transformation into Darth Vader. The trilogy includes “The Phantom Menace,” “Attack of the Clones,” and “Revenge of the Sith,” and explores the fall of the Jedi Order, the rise of the Empire, and Palpatine’s path to power. Produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by 20th Century Fox, the films introduced new characters and expanded the history of the Star Wars universe. While the first two movies received mixed reactions, the trilogy was a major box office success, with “Revenge of the Sith” earning stronger praise.
