Top Gun (Franchise)
*Top Gun* is an American action drama franchise based on a 1983 article by Ehud Yonay, first adapted into the 1986 film written by Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr. It follows Tom Cruise as Maverick, a Navy pilot who trains at the elite Fighter Weapons School alongside his radar officer Goose. The original film became a major cultural hit despite mixed reviews, known for its visuals and popular soundtrack. It was later followed by the 2022 sequel *Top Gun: Maverick*, which brings Maverick back decades later to train new pilots while facing his past, and it was even more successful with critics and audiences.
