‘The Bear’ Season 5 Rotten Tomatoes Score Is Revealed and It’s Record-Breaking
The Bear is ending its story on a high note, at least according to critics. The upcoming fifth and final season of the hit FX series has received a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes after the first wave of reviews, making it one of the most highly praised final seasons in recent television history.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, Season 5 currently holds a 100% Tomatometer score from 24 critic reviews. Many reviewers praised the final episodes for bringing the emotional journey of Carmy Berzatto and his team to a satisfying conclusion while keeping the same intensity that made the series popular.
The fifth season brings back Jeremy Allen White as Carmy Berzatto, the talented chef who returned to Chicago to take over his late brother’s struggling sandwich shop. The new episodes continue after Carmy leaves the restaurant behind, forcing Sydney, Richie, Natalie, and the rest of the team to deal with major challenges while trying to keep their dream alive.

Critics say the final season works because it stays focused on the characters and their relationships. Nicholas Quah from New York Magazine/Vulture praised the show’s emotional payoff, writing that “the satisfaction of its payoff hints at an interesting truth about the series: The Bear is only truly great when its characters are working — or, more precisely, when they are operating within the structure of work.”
Other reviewers also highlighted how the series handles its final moments. Alison Herman from Variety noted that while the show “can’t fully shake off two full seasons of subpar storytelling,” she believes the final season shows improvement and delivers a strong ending.
Sherin Nicole from RIOTUS praised the emotional side of the series, saying “This is The Bear, it was never going to go down easy, but this show makes bittersweet taste so good.” She added that the final season feels like a celebration of the characters fans have followed from the beginning.
The Daily Telegraph’s Benji Wilson gave the season a perfect 5/5 rating, saying “I’d say they’ve done it. Here are the characters you’ve come to love in the situation in which you’ve come to love them.” The review suggests that the series succeeds by staying true to the people at the center of the story.
USA Today critic Kelly Lawler also praised the show’s deeper themes, explaining that “The Bear is ultimately a series about hope: hope in the face of insurmountable odds, of depression and anger and trauma and grief.”
The final season will include eight episodes, all arriving on June 25, 2026, on FX on Hulu. Christopher Storer returns as showrunner, with the main cast including Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie, Ayo Edebiri as Sydney, Lionel Boyce as Marcus, Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina, Abby Elliott as Natalie, Matty Matheson as Neil Fak, and Edwin Lee Gibson as Ebraheim.
While some critics admit the series has had uneven moments in recent seasons, the early reactions suggest that The Bear is finishing its run with the same emotional energy that made it a television favorite. With a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score so far, the final chapter appears ready to give fans the meaningful goodbye they were hoping for.
