‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Finally Gets Its Hulu and Disney+ Release Date
Fans of Miranda Priestly’s fashion empire will not have to wait much longer to watch The Devil Wears Prada 2 from home. After a hugely successful run in theaters, the long-awaited sequel is now preparing for its digital, physical, and streaming release.
According to information released by 20th Century Studios, the movie will first become available for digital purchase on June 30 through platforms including Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Fandango at Home. The film will then arrive on Blu-ray and 4K UHD on July 28 before making its streaming debut on Disney+ and Hulu on July 29.
The sequel brings back several familiar faces from the original film. Meryl Streep returns as the powerful and demanding Miranda Priestly, while Anne Hathaway reprises her role as Andy Sachs. Emily Blunt also returns as Emily Charlton, giving fans another chance to see the beloved trio together on screen.
This time, the story follows Andy as she returns to Runway magazine as its new features editor. According to the official synopsis released by the studio, Andy finds herself working alongside Miranda once again as the magazine faces new challenges in a rapidly changing media landscape.
The film opened in theaters on May 1 and quickly became one of the biggest entertainment stories of the year. Audiences who grew up with the original movie were eager to revisit the characters, while a new generation of viewers discovered the world of Runway for the first time.
Critics responded positively to the sequel. The movie currently holds a 77 percent critics score and an 84 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Many reviews praised the chemistry between the returning cast members and the way the sequel updated its story for a modern audience while keeping the spirit of the original film intact.
Its financial performance was equally impressive. The Devil Wears Prada 2 earned more than $680 million worldwide during its theatrical run against a reported production budget of $100 million. That total easily surpassed the original movie’s worldwide gross of $326 million and made the sequel the highest-grossing film in the franchise.

The success also pushed the overall franchise beyond the $1 billion mark at the global box office, a milestone few comedy-drama series manage to reach. The strong performance proved that audiences were still interested in the characters nearly two decades after the first movie became a cultural phenomenon.
Director David Frankel returned to helm the sequel, while screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna once again handled the script. Producer Wendy Finerman also returned to help guide the project. Their involvement gave the sequel a strong connection to the original film that many fans appreciated.
For viewers interested in bonus content, the upcoming Blu-ray and 4K UHD editions will include several behind-the-scenes featurettes. These extras explore the making of the sequel, the evolution of the characters, and the film’s extensive fashion design work. There is also a gag reel, audio commentary, and a music video for “Runway” performed by Lady Gaga and Doechii.
The movie’s arrival on Disney+ and Hulu is expected to introduce it to an even larger audience. Many successful theatrical releases find a second wave of popularity once they become available on streaming platforms, and The Devil Wears Prada 2 appears well positioned to continue its momentum.
With strong reviews, massive box office numbers, and the return of one of cinema’s most iconic fashion figures, The Devil Wears Prada 2 has already cemented itself as one of the year’s biggest hits. Now fans can prepare to revisit Runway magazine from the comfort of home when the film arrives on streaming later this summer.
