The MCU’s Next Chapter Is About to Be Unveiled as Marvel Teases Major Announcements
Marvel Studios is officially coming back to San Diego Comic-Con, and fans are already wondering if the event will bring the first major look at Avengers: Doomsday. After skipping last year’s Hall H presentation, Marvel has confirmed that it will once again take over the convention’s biggest stage with a special Marvel Studios panel.
The announcement came through Marvel’s official website, which revealed the studio’s full lineup for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Along with panels focused on projects like the new Midnight Universe, X-Men ’97, and the upcoming Wolverine video game, Marvel Studios confirmed its return to Hall H.
The studio will take the same 5:30 PM PT time slot it has used for major announcements in the past. Marvel did not reveal exactly what will be shown, but teased fans with the message: “Join Marvel Studios, alongside special guests from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, for an exclusive look at what’s next.”
That wording has immediately led to speculation that Marvel could finally reveal the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, one of the most highly anticipated MCU projects currently in development.
The upcoming Avengers film has already created plenty of excitement after Marvel announced that Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU, not as Iron Man, but as the villainous Doctor Doom. The movie is expected to bring together several major Marvel teams and characters, making it one of the biggest crossover events in the franchise’s history.
While some footage from Avengers: Doomsday has reportedly been shown privately at different events, Marvel has yet to release a full trailer for fans around the world. Because of that, many believe Hall H could be the perfect place for the first official trailer reveal.

The timing would also make sense. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 31, shortly after Comic-Con. A new Avengers: Doomsday trailer could easily be attached to Spider-Man screenings, giving Marvel a major opportunity to build excitement for the next chapter of the MCU.
However, fans should not assume that everything shown during the panel will immediately be released online. Marvel has a long history of creating exclusive Hall H moments that are only available to the people inside the room.
In previous years, the studio has shown special footage, behind-the-scenes videos, and early trailers at Comic-Con before releasing them publicly later. Some footage has even remained exclusive to convention attendees.
Because Marvel described the panel as an “exclusive look at what’s next,” there is a strong chance that at least some surprises will be kept secret from viewers watching from home.
The studio could choose several different approaches. Marvel might release the Avengers: Doomsday trailer online immediately after the presentation, or it could show the trailer only to Hall H attendees and wait a few days before making it public. Another possibility is that fans at the event receive additional footage or announcements that never officially appear online.
Either way, Marvel’s return to Hall H signals that the studio is preparing something significant. After a quieter year without a major Comic-Con presence, the MCU appears ready to remind fans why its convention appearances have become some of the biggest entertainment events.
With Avengers: Doomsday approaching and the future of the MCU continuing to expand, this year’s Marvel panel could become one of the most talked-about moments of San Diego Comic-Con.
