When the podcast host asked directly whether she’d actually undergone an exorcism, Gerber confirmed it had happened, describing an unconventional method used to carry it out. “Do you know how they did the exorcism? They played a didgeridoo all over me,” she said, referring to the wind instrument traditionally used by Indigenous Australian cultures. “That actually did happen. I’ve never talked about it, but it actually did happen.” The story marked a rare moment of Gerber pulling back the curtain on a private part of her upbringing that had never come up in prior interviews.

Gerber didn’t stop at the exorcism story alone. She described feeling “haunted” her whole life and joked that she seems to “attract beings from other dimensions in a very casual and chill way,” suggesting the childhood incident wasn’t an isolated moment but part of a broader pattern she’s experienced over the years growing up.

The timing of the revelation lines up closely with Gerber’s current promotional push for ‘The Shards,’ where she plays a character alongside Homer Gere’s fictionalized version of Bret Easton Ellis. In a separate interview with Vogue published earlier this month, Gerber reflected on meeting Homer for the first time, noting that their parents’ past marriage came up almost immediately once they started working together on set.

Gerber has spoken previously about what it was like growing up as the daughter of one of the most recognizable supermodels in the world. She told Vogue that fame was something she was born into, meaning she never experienced what it felt like to actually become famous the way most people do, unlike some of her castmates who grew up outside the public eye entirely.
