‘The Studio’ Star Zac Efron and His Brother Just Flexed Their Muscles One Last Time Before Summer Ends, and Fans Are Losing Their Minds
Zac Efron has never been the type to flood social media with personal updates, which is exactly why his rare appearances on Instagram tend to send fans into a frenzy. The ‘High School Musical’ star has spent the tail end of summer keeping a low profile, making any glimpse into his downtime feel like a genuine event.
That downtime recently included a relaxed getaway with his younger brother, Dylan Efron, and a group of friends. The siblings have built a reputation over the years for turning ordinary hangouts into viral moments, largely thanks to Dylan’s far more active social media presence compared to Zac’s noticeably quieter approach.
This time, Dylan took to Instagram to share a new carousel of photos from the outing, captioning the post simply “Taking it easy ☀️.” The images showed the brothers spending the day on a boat with friends, trading turns wakeboarding and later heading out for a round of golf, all while showing off their toned physiques in matching black swim trunks.
Fans wasted no time flooding the comments section with reactions to the shirtless photos. “First pic is what you see when heaven’s gates open,” one follower wrote, while another simply commented, “my type is efron.” Even ‘Twilight’ star Taylor Lautner got in on the fun, jokingly commenting that his “aunt tammy is on this app chill.”
The playful energy between the brothers isn’t new, but it hasn’t always been this easy. Speaking with BroBible back in 2021, Dylan admitted that the pair “were always fighting with each other” growing up, describing their relationship as “super combative” due to their age gap and vastly different personalities.
That dynamic shifted once Dylan got older, with the actor crediting his brother for helping him find his footing as an adult. “Then once I graduated college, Zac really took me under his wing and let me live with him when I got my first job in Los Angeles,” Dylan explained.
Zac has echoed that same sentiment when discussing how their bond shaped his own career choices. “I’m a big brother myself, I love him to death, there’s a certain kind of relationship — it’s just a brother bond,” Zac told Entertainment Tonight, reflecting on how his relationship with Dylan influenced a role he played as the eldest of five brothers on screen.
Dylan, for his part, has described himself as the opposite of his more outgoing older brother growing up. “As a kid, I would get red-faced talking in front of five people. I was Zac’s polar opposite. I was very much a sports player who was quiet and shy,” he’s said of their contrasting personalities during childhood.
That shyness extended to social media as well, with Dylan admitting he didn’t join platforms like Instagram until his mid-twenties, describing himself as “very private” for much of his early life. These days, that’s clearly changed, given how often he documents their shared adventures for his nearly two million followers.
The latest boat day photos arrive roughly two years after Zac was hospitalized following a serious pool incident in Ibiza, where he suffered water inhalation after diving into shallow water. Seeing him healthy, relaxed, and clearly enjoying time with family has only added to why fans have responded so warmly to these latest shirtless snapshots.
With summer winding down, it seems the Efron brothers were determined to soak up every last bit of sun before the season officially wraps.
