‘The White Lotus’ Season 3 Episode 6 Breaks Series’ Viewership Record

“The White Lotus” always dared to go “too far,” but the latest episode was something else. Does that have something to do with the latest viewership numbers?
Episode 6 of “The White Lotus” Season 3, which aired on March 23, 2025, has smashed viewership records for the series. It pulled in 4.2 million viewers in the U.S. across HBO and the streaming platform Max.
This number beats the previous high set by the Season 2 finale, which had 4.1 million viewers back in December 2022. The show, set in a luxurious Thai resort, follows the wild lives of guests and staff over a week.
This season started strong, with 2.4 million viewers for its premiere. By Episode 2, that jumped to 3.4 million, a number it hit again with Episode 4. Episode 6, titled “Denials,” saw a huge 75% increase from the Season 3 opener.
It now stands as the most-watched premiere night in the show’s history. Globally, each new episode this season has set a fresh viewership peak for the series.
HBO reports that Season 3 is outpacing Season 2 by over 5 million viewers per episode so far. For comparison, Season 2 ended up averaging 15.5 million viewers per episode in the U.S. after 90 days.
On Max, “The White Lotus” topped the charts last week, ranking as the most-watched title both in the U.S. and worldwide. Social media buzzed too, with the show trending in the top 10 on X for 10 straight hours in the U.S. after Episode 6 aired.
Critics are loving it too. On Rotten Tomatoes, 91% of 133 reviews are positive, with an average score of 7.85/10. Metacritic gave it a 77 out of 100 based on 44 reviews, praising its dark tone and strong performances.
The episode itself stirred up plenty of talk. It dug deeper into a controversial incest storyline involving brothers Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola). After a wild full moon party, Saxon wrestles with hazy memories of drugs, a hookup with Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon), and his own brother.
Earlier, Episode 5 had shocked fans with a kiss between the siblings and a powerful monologue from guest star Sam Rockwell. The cast also includes big names like Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, and Blackpink’s Lisa Manobal, alongside Natasha Rothwell returning from Season 1.
Season 3 of “The White Lotus” is proving to be a wild ride, blending bold storytelling with jaw-dropping moments. The viewership spike shows people can’t look away, even when the plot pushes boundaries. The mix of glamour, chaos, and top-notch acting is what keeps fans hooked. The incest angle might not sit right with everyone, but it’s clear the show isn’t afraid to take risks.
