‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 Expands Cast With New Addition
Laura Dern is joining the cast of “The White Lotus” Season 4. Her arrival comes after Helena Bonham Carter left the project shortly after filming had started.
Dern is not replacing Bonham Carter’s character. Instead, the show’s creator Mike White has written a completely new role for her. This keeps her part separate from what was originally planned.
The new season already has a large cast. It includes actors such as Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani, and Nadia Tereszkiewicz. More names are also attached, including Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer, and Laura Smet.
Season 4 is set in France and follows guests and hotel workers over a one-week period. The story takes place during the Cannes Film Festival and will also include locations like St. Tropez, Monaco, and Paris, while staying centered on the French Riviera.
Mike White continues his role as writer, director, and executive producer. David Bernad and Mark Kamine also serve as executive producers on the series.
This project also brings Mike White and Laura Dern back together. They have worked together before on the HBO series “Enlightened,” which they co-created. Dern also appeared in White’s film “Year of the Dog.” She even had a small voice appearance in Season 2 of “The White Lotus.”
Dern is an experienced actress with many awards and nominations. She has won both Emmy and Academy Awards during her career. Some of her well-known projects include “Marriage Story,” “Big Little Lies,” “Jurassic Park,” “Little Women,” and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”
The casting news was first reported by Deadline and later confirmed by Variety.
This is a strong addition to the show. Laura Dern brings a lot of experience and has already worked well with Mike White in the past, so this reunion feels natural. It will be interesting to see how her new character fits into the world of “The White Lotus.” What do you think about her joining the cast? Share your thoughts in the comments.
