‘Thunderbolts*’ To Introduce a New Organization to the MCU According to Reports
‘Thunderbolts*’ is just one of many upcoming projects scheduled to be released in 2025. Even though the movie doesn’t generate as much hype as ‘The Fantastic Four’ reboot or ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ so far if the rumors are true it does have the potential to be an exciting start of a new franchise.
We know that ‘Thunderbolts*’ will introduce a new team to the MCU, one similar to DC’s Suicide Squad, but according to the most recent rumors, it’s also going to introduce a new organization helmed by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
This is the word according to The Cosmic Circus and their insider sources. Valentina Allegra de Fontaine is at this point a fairly known character considering that she appeared in ‘Black Widow,’ ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and 2 episodes of ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,’ and considering that she always has some shady kinds of dealing you shouldn’t be surprised to learn that OXE Group is shady as hell, as well.
In the Marvel Comics universe, OXE Group also referred to as O.X.E., is introduced as the largest holding company in the world, led by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who is the Chairman. Valentina is also a member of the Kratos Club, a group of influential individuals with the goal of ensuring that their agenda is carried out regardless of obstacles. The exact nature of OXE/O.X.E. and its activities is not fully explored, but it is affiliated with the Outer Circle, a secretive group that influences global politics and governments.
In the comics, there are similarities with the Thunderbolts series, as characters like Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, and Alexei Shostakov are involved with O.X.E. Valentina’s questionable motives and the potential for betrayal are recurring themes. Bucky Barnes approaches Valentina about using O.X.E. to enact positive change in the world.
While the comic storyline provides some context, the upcoming film adaptation is likely to introduce its own variations and interpretations of these characters and their affiliations. It’s unknown whether Life-Model Decoys will be involved, and it’s unknown whether the movie will simply introduce the OXE group or whether they will ultimately turn out to be the main villain of the movie.
