Tom Hiddleston is officially returning as Loki in Avengers: Doomsday, set to release in December 2026. In a recent chat with Men’s Health, Hiddleston confirmed his involvement in the big Marvel crossover, though he stayed quiet on specific plot details or who he’ll be sharing scenes with.

He said, “You are correct in that I will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. That I can confirm. And that I’ll be working opposite some other actors in that film, that I can confirm. I can’t tell you which actors.”

Starting as Thor’s sneaky brother in 2011’s Thor, he’s been a villain, a hero, and everything in between. Hiddleston’s charm made him a fan favorite, and after dying in Infinity War, the Loki series gave him a fresh shot via time-travel shenanigans. Now, he’s not just alive he’s holding the multiverse’s fate. Talk about a glow-up.

This news follows the ending of Loki Season 2, where the character took on a huge new role as the “God of Stories,” giving him control over the multiverse and its many timelines. That twist set the stage for his major involvement in the next Avengers movie, which is expected to play a huge part in the ongoing Multiverse Saga.

Hiddleston reflected on what it means to keep playing Loki, saying, “I have loved playing Loki. Loki’s been a companion for a long period of my adult life… it never feels like the same experience. It always feels new, and this one will be new in its own way. I’m grateful that I’m still on the team.”

The cast of Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be massive. Alongside Hiddleston, names like Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and even Robert Downey Jr. are expected to appear. Downey will reportedly play Doctor Doom, marking a surprising twist for longtime fans.

The film will also bring in characters from both the current Marvel universe and previous Fox-led X-Men stories, making this one of the most packed superhero films yet.

It’s exciting to see Hiddleston return, especially after the strong finish to Loki. His evolution into a more complex, powerful version of the character brings fresh energy to the MCU. Plus, the idea of him interacting with such a wide cast of characters opens the door to some big surprises. Especially now that Thor is confirmed to appear in the movie as well.
