The Daily Wire is stepping into epic fantasy with its upcoming series The Pendragon Cycle, a television adaptation of Stephen R. Lawhead’s classic novels based on Arthurian legend. The show will premiere on January 22, 2026, on DailyWire+, the streaming service run by the media company.

The project has been in the works since The Daily Wire first secured the rights to Lawhead’s books in late 2022. In mid-2023, company co-founder Jeremy Boreing took a leave from his executive duties to co-direct the seven-episode series. Production took place in Italy and Hungary, and Boreing also serves as creator and executive producer.

The story reimagines the origins of King Arthur, setting the tale in the final days of the Roman Empire and the early rise of Britain. The fantasy drama stars Tom Sharp as Merlin, with Rose Reid, James Arden, Finney Cassidy, Myles Clohessy, Brett Cooper, Alex Laurence Phillips, Daniel Fathers, and Emree Franklin rounding out the main cast.

In a statement, Boreing said the series represents a major creative milestone for the company. “The Pendragon Cycle is the culmination of a 10-year vision to create culture, not just to criticize it. Lawhead’s novels present a visceral, masculine Christianity in a world of conflict and mystery.”

“It isn’t saccharine or clean. In short, it is very much like our world. I’m so happy to share our adaptation, and the work of our remarkable cast and crew, with the Daily Wire audience.”

Lawhead’s original Pendragon Cycle novels combine myth, history, and faith. The book series began as a trilogy before expanding into several additional volumes, including Pendragon, Grail, and Avalon. A seventh installment, Aurelia, was released in early 2025, continuing the saga’s universe.

The show marks The Daily Wire’s largest production effort to date. The company, co-founded by Boreing and Ben Shapiro, has released a variety of feature films and documentaries, but The Pendragon Cycle stands out as its first large-scale fantasy project.

This is a bold move for The Daily Wire. Adapting such an ambitious fantasy series shows the company is serious about growing beyond commentary and into entertainment.

It’ll be interesting to see how audiences respond to a faith-driven take on Arthurian legend. What about you, will you be tuning in when The Pendragon Cycle debuts? Share your thoughts in the comments.
