The re-release includes previously unseen footage meant to serve as an immediate predecessor to ‘Doomsday,’ giving lapsed fans a refresher before the studio’s next major crossover event.
Now, leaked details about the film’s post-credits scenes have begun circulating online, reportedly courtesy of scooper MyTimeToShineHello, whose track record with Marvel scoops has given fans reason to take the claims seriously, even though nothing has been officially confirmed by the studio. According to the leak, the first post-credits scene shows the Time Variance Authority discovering that thousands of universes are colliding and being destroyed, setting up the multiversal stakes at the heart of ‘Doomsday.’
The second scene is said to be even more significant, reportedly showing Doctor Doom directly approaching Bruce Banner’s Hulk, seemingly imprisoned in a military complex two miles underground following the events of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day.’ According to the leak, Banner insists no one is getting in or out of his containment, only for Doom’s voice to interrupt, telling him, “Mr. Banner, I’m here to collect you,” confirming the Hulk’s presence in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’
Beyond the credits scenes themselves, additional rumors suggest the film’s actual ending has also been altered for the re-release, reportedly featuring Loki and Mobius visiting Steve Rogers to explain how his actions disrupted the timeline, before asking him to relocate to Earth-828, the universe housing Marvel’s Fantastic Four. Combined with the TVA sequence, the leaked material suggests only a handful of realities, including Earth-616, Earth-828, and Earth-10005, remain intact by the time ‘Doomsday’ begins.

Speaking with Fandango, director Joe Russo explained that the re-release is designed to directly connect the story of the two films. “There’s a natural progression from Endgame into Doomsday, which is also inclusive of all the other stories that have been playing out. But I think it’s important to see Endgame again in theaters for two reasons: One, you’re going to have a lot of fun … and two, I think it’s required viewing for following the story in Doomsday,” Russo said in comments reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
His brother and longtime directing partner Anthony Russo added an even more pointed tease about just how much new material fans should expect, stating that anyone who saw the original 2019 release wouldn’t have been able to predict where the story is now headed.
