A new animated adventure with Tom and Jerry is on the way, and fans now have their first real look at it. Two trailers for Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass have been released, giving a clearer idea of what to expect from the film.

The movie will arrive in different parts of the world at different times. Viewers in Europe will get it first in May. China will see it later in August, while audiences in North America will have to wait until September. The staggered release depends on regional distributors handling the film.

This new project comes from Warner Bros. Animation and continues a recent push to bring Tom and Jerry back in full-length animated stories. It follows an earlier film released in 2021, and another sequel is already being planned, although details are still limited.

The story takes the famous cat-and-mouse duo into a very different setting than usual. During one of their typical chases, they trigger a mysterious compass that sends them to another time and place. From there, they get caught up in a larger adventure. Along the way, they meet new characters and face unknown forces while trying to find their way back home.

The film features Eric Bauza as the voice of Tom and Ben Diskin as Jerry. The trailers show a mix of classic slapstick humor and a bigger, more fantasy-driven story, which is a shift from their usual short and simple setups.

This kind of change could help keep the characters fresh for new audiences, but it will depend on how well the movie keeps the humor that made Tom and Jerry popular in the first place. What do you think about this new direction for the characters? Share your thoughts in the comments.
