Marvel Studios just dropped a new teaser for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and it’s giving fans the best look yet at Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm. This version of the Invisible Woman isn’t just using her powers, she’s stepping into the spotlight in a way we haven’t really seen before.

In the teaser, we got a better look at her creating force fields and showing just how powerful and focused she really is. Marvel’s making it clear: she’s not just the quiet one on the team anymore.

Vanessa Kirby plays Sue Storm, and her version of the character is different from past films. This time around, Sue is the leader of the Future Foundation, a group that’s helped bring peace to their world. The movie is set in a retro-style version of the 1960s, but on a parallel Earth where the Fantastic Four are already well-known.

Director Matt Shakman talked about what makes Sue so special in this story. In his words, “She’s the most emotionally intelligent person on the planet.” He said Sue’s not just strong, she’s smart, calm, and knows exactly how to handle huge challenges, like Galactus, the planet-eating villain who’s threatening everything.

Kirby also shared how she prepared for the role. She read a lot of the comics and found inspiration in the darker version of Sue called Malice. “I was obsessed with the comics run where Sue takes on the negative persona ‘Malice,’” she said. “I didn’t want her to be the stereotype of a goody, sweet mother.”

In the movie, Sue is also pregnant, married to Reed Richards, and still fighting on the front lines. She’s not pushed to the side, she’s making big choices, helping lead the team, and protecting their world from one of the most powerful threats in the Marvel universe.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025, kicking off Phase Six of the MCU. The movie stars Pedro Pascal as Reed, Joseph Quinn as Johnny, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. But from what we’ve seen so far, this could be Sue Storm’s movie more than anyone else’s.

Marvel Studios has promised a fresh take on the Fantastic Four, skipping the usual origin story and going straight into the action. And with Sue taking center stage, it looks like fans are finally getting a version of the Invisible Woman that lives up to her full potential.
