Vin Diesel (58) Struggles on Stage Before Taylor Swift Steps in To Save the Moment
Vin Diesel had one of the funniest moments of the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday, March 26, and Taylor Swift played a small but memorable role. The 58-year-old actor went onstage at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to present the Landmark Award to his longtime friend and Fast & Furious co-star Ludacris.
The ceremony was lively and celebratory, but Diesel ran into a little trouble as soon as he reached the podium. He looked around, clearly confused by the stage setup, and struggled to find his scripted lines. “I literally can’t see the teleprompter. Where is it?! There? It’s over there? It’s in the middle!” he said, drawing laughter from the audience.
Swift, sitting in the front row, quickly helped out by pointing over her head to the correct screen. Diesel caught on immediately, smiled at her, and thanked her before continuing with the presentation. The hiccup didn’t take away from Ludacris’ big moment.

While accepting the award, Ludacris reflected on his career and thanked the people who supported him. “This particular award is one of those things where I work hard, but I absolutely don’t do it myself,” he told the crowd.
He also teased fans that he is coming back to music after a break. “I thank y’all for 25 years. I’m coming back with new music,” he added, earning cheers from the audience. Outside of awards shows, Diesel has been busy finishing the final chapters of the Fast & Furious franchise.
He confirmed that Michael Lesslie will write the script for the eleventh and final main installment, titled Fast Forever. The movie is expected to return the series to its street-racing roots in Los Angeles and is planned for release on March 17, 2028.
Diesel is also working on Riddick: Furya, the fourth movie in his cult-favorite sci-fi series. Filming happened in Germany and Spain in late 2025, and the movie is now in post-production with a projected release in early 2027.
Beyond movies, Diesel has been expanding the Fast & Furious universe in new ways. He recently appeared in a Super Bowl commercial for the “Hollywood Drift” roller coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood, which lets visitors experience some of the stunts from the films.
As he juggles these projects while closing out a two-decade-long saga, Diesel remains a major figure in Hollywood. His calm handling of the teleprompter mix-up, with a little help from Taylor Swift, reminded fans that even action stars can have lighthearted, human moments in the spotlight.
