Marvel’s television slate has been quietly shrinking for a while now, but few announcements this year have landed with quite as much weight as this week’s news out of the Daredevil corner of the MCU. For a series that clawed its way back from a full creative reset just to find its footing, the timing of this latest development feels especially bittersweet.

That news is the confirmation that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will conclude with its upcoming third season, bringing an end to Disney+’s revival of the character after a rocky but ultimately rewarding journey back to screens. Vincent D’Onofrio, who has played Wilson Fisk across multiple Marvel projects since 2015, addressed the ending directly, reflecting warmly on the show’s run and thanking fans for sticking with the series through its various ups and downs, while teasing that the final season still has plenty in store.

Originally announced in 2022 with an 18-episode order under a very different creative direction, the series underwent a significant reset following the 2023 Hollywood strikes, ultimately parting ways with original head writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord before Scardapane took over. Despite that rocky start, the show found real momentum once it premiered, with its first season drawing an impressive 7.5 million viewers within its first five days.

Season two, which aired in spring 2026, brought back familiar faces including Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page and reintroduced Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, even as the show saw a notable viewership decline compared to its debut season.
