Marvel fans have been waiting to find out how long ‘VisionQuest’ will keep them glued to Disney+, and the ‘VisionQuest‘ episode runtimes are finally here. The series is the third and final entry in the trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ and continued with ‘Agatha All Along.’ It follows Vision as he searches for new meaning while on the run with a mysterious boy who may be his son.

Terry Matalas is the showrunner, and the eight-episode series stars Paul Bettany as Vision and James Spader as Ultron. The cast also includes Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller and Lauren Morais. It premieres on Disney+ on Oct. 14 with a two-episode launch, and the opening pair will screen at BFI IMAX in London on Oct. 12, two days earlier.

Cosmic Marvel shared the full list on X on Oct. 3, citing a report from Brazilian site Legado da Marvel. Episode 1 runs 53 minutes and Episode 2 runs 45 minutes. Episode 3 comes in at 52 minutes, followed by Episode 4 at 48 minutes, Episode 5 at 46 minutes and Episode 6 at 54 minutes.

The last two episodes are where things get interesting. Episode 7 runs 1 hour and 2 minutes, and Episode 8 runs 1 hour and 8 minutes. Added together, the whole series comes to 7 hours and 8 minutes.

No installment is shorter than 45 minutes, which suggests Marvel plans to give Vision’s story plenty of room. The festival listing for the opening pair is consistent with these figures, giving the two-episode presentation a total runtime of 97 minutes.

New ‘VisionQuest’ Trailer Shows Vision’s Bold New Look Ahead of Premiere

According to ComicBookMovie, episodes 7 and 8 break the record of 58 minutes set by ‘Hawkeye’ and become the longest MCU TV episodes ever. That makes the finale the longest episode of MCU streaming content since ‘Hawkeye.’ Combined, the final two episodes are feature-length, which should please fans who want these characters given room to breathe.

There is a small caveat. The Direct points out that it is unclear whether the officially listed runtimes include end credits, and if so, how much. Marvel’s recent shows tend to have shorter credits than in 2021, so the real viewing time could vary.

The opening two episodes already make a statement. Averaging 48.5 minutes each, they form the longest two-episode premiere in the ‘WandaVision’ trilogy. That fits the show’s tone, since ‘WandaVision’ leaned on its multi-era sitcom premise at the start and had not yet revealed its reality-bending storyline.

The length also matters because of what comes next for Marvel television. Cosmic Book News notes that ‘VisionQuest’ is the last new live-action Marvel series on the Disney+ schedule. After it, the only live-action show currently dated is the third and final season of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ in 2027.

That raises the stakes for a story that has to close out a trilogy. Episodes are likely to arrive weekly, so fans should have plenty of time to speculate between chapters. A longer finale also gives the series room to resolve the bounty on Vision’s head, his bond with the boy and his reunion with Ultron.

Early marketing has leaned on those threads. The trailer introduces Paladin, played by Stashwick, a masked mercenary who sets his sights on Vision after a bounty is placed on him. With runtimes this generous, ‘VisionQuest’ looks set to take its time.

How do you feel about VisionQuest having the longest MCU TV episodes yet?
