‘VisionQuest’ New Look Reveals Tommy Maximoff and His Mysterious New Ally Ahead of October Premiere

Marvel Television has spent the past several years slowly rebuilding the emotional foundation it first laid with ‘WandaVision,’ carrying that story forward through ‘Agatha All Along’ and now toward what’s being billed as the trilogy’s final chapter. Each installment has leaned further into questions of identity, grief, and what it actually means to be human within the MCU’s ever-expanding roster of synthetic beings.

That thread continues most directly through Paul Bettany’s White Vision, who has spent years wandering in isolation since the character’s quiet reemergence at the end of ‘WandaVision.’ His upcoming series finds him still searching for purpose, retreating inward to consult a collection of familiar AI personas as he tries to reconcile who he was with who he’s become.

Now, a new image has given fans their clearest look yet at two key figures joining Vision on that journey. Cosmic Marvel shared a fresh photo of Ruaridh Mollica and Lauren Morais as Tommy Maximoff and Lisa Molinari in ‘VisionQuest,’ offering an early glimpse at a relationship that’s expected to sit at the emotional core of the series alongside Vision’s own arc.

Mollica plays Thomas Shepherd, widely believed to be the grown-up version of Tommy Maximoff, the speedster son Wanda and Vision created during the events of ‘WandaVision.’ His twin brother Billy previously placed Tommy’s soul into a teenager named Thomas Shepherd during ‘Agatha All Along,’ setting up this more mature version of the character for his return.

Morais joins him as Lisa Molinari, a character described as having a close connection to Mollica’s Tommy. In Marvel Comics, the character goes by the alias Coat of Arms, though how closely the series will follow that comic book lineage remains to be seen. Their dynamic is expected to unfold alongside Vision’s own storyline once a bounty hunter named Paladin, played by Todd Stashwick, forces Vision to go on the run.

Showrunner Terry Matalas has been open about the emotional territory the series is exploring. He told Empire that this marks the first time audiences get to watch Vision actually drive the narrative and grapple with who he is and who he thinks he was, describing the approach as essentially “the Vision movie” of the MCU.

Paul Bettany has echoed that sentiment in his own recent comments about the project. He told Screen Rant that Matalas understood exactly who Vision resonates with, framing the character as speaking to anyone who has ever felt like an outsider without a community to belong to.

Beyond Mollica and Morais, the series brings together a sprawling cast tied to Tony Stark’s technological legacy, including James Spader reprising Ultron, James D’Arcy returning as J.A.R.V.I.S., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., and Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H. Faran Tahir also returns as Raza from the original ‘Iron Man,’ rounding out a cast built almost entirely around characters connected to Vision’s origins.

The eight-episode miniseries is directed by a team that includes Matalas himself alongside Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, and Vincenzo Natali, with Kevin Feige producing under the Marvel Television banner.

‘VisionQuest’ is set to premiere on Disney+ on October 14, with new episodes expected to roll out weekly through the fall. As the third and final chapter in the Westview trilogy, the series carries significant weight for fans who have followed Vision’s fractured journey since his very first appearance as Tony Stark’s AI assistant.

With Tommy and Lisa’s relationship now coming further into focus, anticipation for the series’ emotional stakes only continues to build heading into its October debut.
