Walker Scobell has decided he will not go to his school prom, and the reason behind it has caught a lot of attention online. The 17-year-old, who stars in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, shared the update directly with fans on Instagram on April 12.

According to his post, the choice was not something he wanted to make. It came after people started sending serious threats to girls in his area. Some of them were targeted just because they were rumored to know him or be close to him. The situation quickly became uncomfortable and unsafe.

Scobell addressed the issue in a simple and direct way. He wrote, “Just to let everyone know, I will not be attending prom.” He also asked people to stop the behavior that led to this decision. “Maybe also just stop sending death threats in general. That’s just not cool. Kinda weird, I have to say this,” he added. His message made it clear that he was frustrated and concerned about how far things had gone.

Many people supported him for speaking up, while others were surprised that something like this could happen over a TV show. This is not the only time someone from the cast has dealt with uncomfortable fan behavior. His co-star Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover in the series, recently talked about a strange experience with fans in public.

He said a group approached him while they were drunk, and one person crossed a line by putting their hand in his back pocket. That moment also raised concerns about how some fans act around young actors.

Even with these issues, work on the show is still moving forward. The next season of Percy Jackson has already finished filming. Reports say it wrapped production in March and will cover the story from The Titan’s Curse. New characters are expected to appear, including Artemis, played by Dafne Keen, along with other well-known names from the books.

Scobell has also been busy outside of the series. He recently worked on a film called Looking Through Water, where he plays one of the lead roles. He is also part of the voice cast for The Angry Birds Movie 3, which is expected to come out later this year.

Even though his career is growing fast, this situation shows that fame can come with difficult moments, especially at a young age. For now, Scobell seems focused on staying safe and setting clear boundaries, while also continuing his work in film and television.
