When Is ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ Coming to HBO Max? Potential Release Date Revealed

Even though the movie held all the charm, action, and humor of the first installment in the series, it received a somewhat lukewarm response. Shazam: Fury of the Gods arrives at HBO Max on May 23. The movie was released digitally on April 7th. The physical copies of Shazam: Fury of the Gods will be available on May 23rd as well.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods failed to improve upon its predecessors 

The original Shazam movie was critically acclaimed and earned quite a bit at the box office, returning its investments fully and even earning something along the way when everything is taken into Shazam was a commercial and critical success. This was enough to warrant a sequel, although the sequel arrived at the wrong time; with the new restructuring of the former DCEU and a slate of new upcoming projects revealed, fans kind of lost interest in a movie that will be set in the universe that is rapidly approaching its end with the upcoming release of the Flash Movie. Shazam’s future in the new DCU is still somewhat uncertain.

The second installment in the movie series sees Zachary Levi returning in the role of a titular hero. The Shazam family is unaware that trouble is brewing with the Daughters of Atlas returning to reclaim the power they lost long ago. 

Fans weren’t as interested to see the new chapter in Shazam’s story, and the fact that they spoiled Wonder Woman’s cameo didn’t help draw people to theaters.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods arrives on HBO Max on May 23rd, the same day as physical copies become available for purchase.
