White House Responds After ‘Reacher’ Star Alan Ritchson’s Explosive Epstein Files Comments
Alan Ritchson has found himself at the center of a political discussion after making strong comments about the release of the Epstein files during an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast.
The Reacher star spoke openly about his frustration with the handling of the files and criticized what he described as a lack of accountability for powerful people connected to serious allegations. His comments quickly spread online, leading to a response from the White House.
During the podcast, Ritchson said he would personally push for the documents to be released if he had the authority to do so. “This is my fucking politics, dude: I would fucking railroad these fuckers. I would get those Epstein files out in two seconds. Fucking move out of the way,” he said.
He continued by saying he believes the public deserves transparency and that people accused of crimes should face consequences. “Don’t you want to see what’s in there so that we can hold people accountable?” Ritchson added.
The actor also addressed his use of strong language during the conversation, joking that some people might question his words because of his Christian beliefs. “I shouldn’t say ‘fuck’ because I’m a Christian, and people are gonna go, ‘How can he say fuck and he’s a Christian?’ Because that is something that should make you want to say ‘fuck,’” he explained.
Ritchson also talked about his reputation for speaking openly, saying he does not feel pressure to stay quiet like some people in Hollywood. He joked that his publicist was probably worried about his comments and said he was not trying to create controversy.
“Everybody is scared around me for what I’m going to say,” Ritchson said. He added that he does not consider himself a reckless person, but someone who is willing to discuss issues he believes matter.
The comments eventually received a response from the White House. Abigail Jackson, a White House spokesperson, issued a statement to Entertainment Weekly defending President Donald Trump’s position regarding Epstein-related documents.
“Just as President Trump has said, he’s been totally exonerated on anything relating to Epstein,” Jackson said. She added that Trump had supported releasing documents, worked with congressional requests, and backed further investigations.
Jackson also criticized Democrats in her statement, claiming some had connections to Epstein that required further explanation. Her response shifted the conversation toward political arguments surrounding the files and the people connected to the case.
Beyond the controversy, Ritchson also spoke about his future and whether politics could eventually become part of his career. He mentioned his friendship with former California governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, saying Schwarzenegger encouraged him to consider entering politics.
