Witchbrook, a Spellbinding Witch Life-Sim for Up To 4-Players Is Finally Coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox [Trailer]

Witchbrook is coming in the Winter of 2025! Revealed during a Nintendo Direct on March 27, 2025, this cozy life simulator from Chucklefish blends magic with everyday living.
The game will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox, with a day-one release on Game Pass. After years of development, fans finally got a detailed look at what’s in store through a new trailer.
In Witchbrook, players step into the shoes of a student at a magical academy located in the seaside town of Mossport.
The game lets you explore the college, the town, and nearby woodlands. Activities include learning spells, crafting potions, and riding flying brooms. You can also fix up a woodland cottage, make friends, and even find romance.
The game’s world mixes modern touches with classic witchy vibes. Think coffee shops and scooters alongside broom rides and ritual circles. Up to four players can team up online to explore and enjoy the adventure together.
Chucklefish, known for publishing Stardew Valley aims to make this a detailed and relaxing experience. The pixel-art style adds charm to the settings, from windmills to colorful gardens.
The trailer showed students chatting in pointy hats, parking brooms like bikes, and using wands for small tasks—like refilling a fruit basket or moving furniture.
Development started back in 2016 under the name “Project Spellbound,” with the official Witchbrook reveal in 2017. Progress was slow, with little shown until now. The team switched to an isometric view in 2020 and shared some screenshots in 2022.
Chucklefish’s CTO, Rodrigo Braz Monteiro, said the game’s simulation depth stands out, even for a small indie title. Art director Steph Caskenette called it a tribute to slow, thoughtful living and the bonds people share.
This isn’t a high-stakes magical epic. It’s about the quiet joys of school life and small moments—like decorating your home or helping the community. With a release planned for the 2025 holiday season, Witchbrook promises a warm escape for players craving something peaceful yet enchanting.
Witchbrook could be a hit for anyone who loves cozy games with a twist. The mix of magic and daily life feels fresh, and the co-op feature makes it even better for hanging out with friends. Chucklefish has a solid track record, so I’m hopeful they’ll deliver something special.
