What?!! The Next Wolverine Has Been Cast! Since When?

Wolverine Has Been Cast

We’ve all been wondering who would take over the Wolverine character now that Hugh Jackman has stepped down. Actors like Daniel Radcliffe, Zac Efron, Tom Hardy, and even Scott Eastwood have been linked to the role. While the world sits back deciding who is going to take the role, I think we’ve already missed the decision.

Margot Robbie is one Hell of an actor. She has an undeniable talent that has allowed her to take on every role in every genre without so much as blinking an eye.

  • Tonya Harding
  • Queen Elizabeth 1
  • Naomi Napaglia
  • Harley Quinn

Suicide Squad as a movie was…terrible. The script was awful, the casting choices were forgettable, and the climatic battle felt forced. The only thing the movie had going for it, sorry Will Smith, was Margot Robbie. Her take on Harley Quinn was picture perfect. It was so good that DC and Warner Bros. are practically giving Robbie her own spin-off, Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

Suicide Squad 2

And now, although DC has made it clear that she will not be in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad 2, rumors have surfaced that she actually will be. Given how popular she is as Quinn, her rumored inclusion comes as no surprise. From a practicality standpoint, with new voice Gunn at the helm, there should be some tie to the first movie. Harley Quinn is the tie-in.

And this leads me to my point.

Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is quickly becoming the new Wolverine. Due to her widespread popularity, both Warner Bros. and DC are doing exactly what Fox did with Jackman and cramming her in everything. I realize that the comparison is a little “out there”. Jackman played Wolverine 17 times and Robbie has played Harley (in movies) just once, about to be twice. But think about it. They want Robbie’s Harley because her Harley sells tickets. Like Jackman, she was born to play the character. Yes, I know she’s not Wolverine in the literal sense. However, in every other regard, she’s becoming him. By this logic, the next Wolverine has been cast.

Maybe it’s a stretch right now but talk to me in 10 years and after another 15 Harley Quinn movies have been made.

Cheers,

Joel
