‘Wuthering Heights’ Set Video Showcases Hanging Celebrations

A new film adaptation of Wuthering Heights is on the way! The upcoming Gothic psychological drama is written, directed, and produced by Emerald Fennell. It is based on the classic 1847 novel by Emily Brontë.
The film stars Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. It is set to be released in theaters by Warner Bros. Pictures on February 13, 2026.
Recently, a leaked set video from Wuthering Heights surfaced online. It shows a dramatic “hanging celebrations” scene.
The leaked video has sparked curiosity and excitement among fans. Many are eager to see how Fennell’s version will interpret the dark themes of Wuthering Heights.
In 2024, Emerald Fennell announced she would adapt Wuthering Heights for the big screen. In September, Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi were cast as the lead characters. Robbie is also producing the film through her company, LuckyChap Entertainment. This marks another collaboration between Fennell, Robbie, and Elordi. Fennell directed Elordi in Saltburn (2023), which Robbie also produced.
She also worked with Robbie on Promising Young Woman (2020).
A bidding war in October 2024 saw Netflix offering $150 million for the film’s distribution rights. However, Warner Bros. Pictures secured the deal with an $80 million offer. The studio agreed to a full theatrical release and a strong marketing campaign, which helped them win the project.
Additional cast members were announced in late 2024 and early 2025. Hong Chau, Alison Oliver, and Shazad Latif joined in November. Charlotte Mellington, Owen Cooper, and Vy Nguyen were later confirmed to play younger versions of the main characters. Filming began in the United Kingdom in January 2025 with Linus Sandgren as cinematographer.
