X-Men Join Avengers, Fantastic Four, and Doctor Doom in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ First Look
Filming for Avengers: Doomsday recently wrapped, and fans got their first look at the full cast in costume thanks to a social media post by SFX and makeup artist Gi Ponci Mua.
The images show new designs for the Fantastic Four (excluding The Thing), comic-accurate outfits for the X-Men, and updated appearances for Thor, Namor, M’Baku, and other returning characters.
Avengers: Doomsday brings together multiple superhero teams, including the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the original X-Men, to face Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. Other characters confirmed in the lineup include Captain America, Black Panther, Loki, Shang-Chi, and Gambit. Some fans hope to see additional X-Men like Wolverine, Jean Grey, and Storm join the film.

The movie is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and co-written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. Filming began in April at Pinewood Studios in England, with location shoots in Bahrain and Windsor Great Park, and wrapped a few days ago.
The film is part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be released in the United States on December 18, 2026. Its sequel, Secret Wars, is scheduled for December 17, 2027.
Avengers: Doomsday follows events from Thunderbolts* and is part of a connected storyline leading into Secret Wars. The Russo brothers confirmed that the two films were produced in a way similar to Infinity War and Endgame, but they were not shot back-to-back.
Fans have noted the movie’s strong focus on comic-accurate designs. Thor’s shorter haircut resembles his look from Avengers: Infinity War, and the X-Men’s outfits are faithful to their original comics.
The film also integrates characters from 20th Century Fox’s Marvel properties with the main MCU cast, expanding the universe further.
Avengers: Doomsday looks like it will be one of the biggest ensemble films in the MCU so far. With multiple superhero teams, returning favorites, and comic-accurate designs, it promises to deliver something both nostalgic and fresh for fans. I’m especially curious to see how all these characters are balanced on screen. What do you think about the cast and costume reveal? Share your thoughts in the comments.
