Fashion Week front rows tend to be a mix of established stars and fresh faces who are only beginning to turn heads. Paris, which wrapped its latest edition this week, delivered both in abundance. One of the newer faces generating buzz is ‘X-Men’ star Maya Boyd, the Broadway actress now preparing to join Marvel’s mutant universe.

Boyd’s rise has been quick, even by Hollywood standards. Only a few months ago, she was still best known to theater audiences and to her fans on social media. Now she is stepping into a role that two Hollywood actresses played before her.

Her latest appearance came on Tuesday, when Boyd attended Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2027 show at the Cour Carrée of the Louvre.

Boyd chose a clean, polished outfit that let her personality come through. She wore a short black double-breasted jacket with gold buttons and leather-trimmed cuffs, paired with a matching black mini skirt. Her natural curls fell loosely around her shoulders, and the look was finished with a smile that stood out in the crowd.

The standout accessory was a monogram clutch, carried with a chain strap and a tan luggage-style tag. It added a classic Louis Vuitton touch to an otherwise sleek ensemble. The restrained palette suited a show that was built around lightness and simplicity.

The show itself was a major moment. It took place just days after President Emmanuel Macron presented Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s women’s artistic director, with the insignia of Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur. Ghesquière then unveiled a futuristic, minimalist collection, staged in the Louvre’s courtyard against a set meant to evoke an urban jungle.

Plenty of famous names filled the front row. Zendaya, Emma Stone, Lisa, Sophie Turner and Ana de Armas were among the other guests. Boyd held her own in that company, which says a lot about how quickly she has been embraced by the fashion crowd.

Maya Boyd Shares New Photos, and ‘X-Men’ Fans Can’t Stop Thinking About Storm

Boyd was announced as Storm, also known as Ororo Munroe, on August 14 at Disney’s D23 event in Anaheim, California. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed the first wave of cast members for the new ‘X-Men’ film, which is directed by Jake Schreier. The cast also includes Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Christopher Abbott, Samara Weaving, Inde Navarrette and Adam Driver.

The role marks the 23-year-old’s feature film debut. She follows Halle Berry, who played Storm in four films, and Alexandra Shipp, who played a younger version of the character. Boyd reacted to the news on Instagram, saying she was honored to be the franchise’s Storm.

Before Marvel, Boyd trained as a ballerina and later switched to musical theater at the University of Michigan. She made her Broadway debut in ‘Merrily We Roll Along’ while still a senior, then took over the lead role of Juliet in ‘& Juliet.’ More recently she appeared in August Wilson’s ‘Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,’ playing Molly Cunningham.

She also built a following of more than 450,000 on TikTok through skits, family videos and singing clips. Between the stage, social media and now Hollywood, Boyd arrives with a rare mix of skills. Her fashion appearances are likely to draw even more attention as the film gets closer.

The ‘X-Men’ film is scheduled for release in May 2028, so fans have a long wait before seeing her in costume. In the meantime, front-row moments like this one offer a glimpse of the star power that Marvel is betting on. If this look is any indication, the new Storm has a bright forecast.
