'X-Men' Star Samara Weaving Goes Cobalt Blue for Valentino's Library-Set "Antibiblioteca" Show in Paris

Samara Weaving has a history with Valentino shows in Paris, and she rarely misses a chance to turn heads there. In October 2023 she attended the Valentino Spring/Summer 2024 show in a black bikini top with a white butterfly, tailored trousers and a long patterned jacket draped off her shoulders. She was back in January 2024 for the house’s Haute Couture show.

Her public outings have become something of a rare occasion, as InStyle noted. So when she turns up at a Paris Fashion Week event, fans pay attention. She was also spotted around the city on October 3 in a relaxed, sporty-chic look.

The setting for this season’s Valentino show was just as striking. Creative director Alessandro Michele staged the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, dubbed “Antibiblioteca”, in the reading room of the 19th-century Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève. It is the first public library in France, and Michele asked guests to bring a favorite book.

On Sunday, Weaving was among the guests. A fan account shared photos of her at the “Antibiblioteca” show, posing among dark wood bookshelves with a reading lamp and an ornate ceiling pattern behind her. She wore a cobalt-blue fitted top with Valentino lettering across the chest, paired with pleated dark taupe trousers and a black belt. She carried a small black beaded clutch and wore her blonde hair in loose waves.

The blue top was a bold pop of color against the rich library backdrop. It also echoed the collection itself, where models wore tight silk corset tops in bright blue, yellow or hot pink with skirts in contrasting colors.

The show’s title comes from the concept of the antilibrary, the idea that unread books are a valuable store of knowledge still waiting to be discovered. The idea is drawn from Nassim Nicholas Taleb and tied to Umberto Eco’s library of about 30,000 volumes. Michele applied it to clothes, treating each look as a story not yet fully told.

Reuters described colorful corset tops, lace skirts and chunky gold necklaces. Lace skirts and shirts had ostrich-feather hems, and jewelry included baroque gold necklaces and giant pearl earrings. Men wore sequinned shirts and bright baseball caps printed with “VILLAIN TEEN”, and the final look was a floor-length red gown with a giant black bow.

The stakes are high for Michele. He has led the Roman house since March 2024 and is under pressure to revive sales after a €103M loss last year, when revenues fell 15%.

Weaving was in good company. Naomi Watts, Colman Domingo and Alexander Skarsgård were among the celebrities in the front row, along with Zoey Deutch and Jeff Satur. WWD noted that the halls of the centuries-old library brought back memories for Watts.

Weaving’s 2026 has been busy on screen. She returned as Grace in ‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come’, which hit theaters on March 20 alongside Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood. The film is set immediately after the events of the first movie, with Grace fighting to protect her estranged sister while hunted by rival families.

She also stars opposite Jason Segel in ‘Over Your Dead Body’. A third project, the crime romance ‘Carolina Caroline’ with Kyle Gallner, premiered at TIFF in 2025 and was set for a June 5 release. Both ‘Ready or Not 2’ and ‘Over Your Dead Body’ had their world premieres at SXSW.

It is a lot of momentum for an actress known as a scream queen.
