Robert Pattinson, known for his intense roles, recently revealed an unexpected favorite movie in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes.

While he listed classics like One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and The Exorcist, he also praised the 2001 comedy Corky Romano, a film widely panned by critics.

“I love that film,” Pattinson said. “Literally, that’s one of the only films I’ve pissed my pants at. Like, I actually pissed my pants.”

“The first time I was in L.A., I was watching it on TV. The scene where he’s on coke… was literally the only thing that they advertised, it was like the only point of the whole movie! I love that character. I love how Chris Kattan just stripped his whole career in one movie. The only guy off Saturday Night Live who just messed it up! It’s like, what happened? The only guy. That’s why I think it’s so great.” He said.

Corky Romano stars Chris Kattan as a veterinarian forced by his mobster family to infiltrate the FBI to protect his father, played by Peter Falk.

The movie also featured Fred Ward, Vinessa Shaw, Chris Penn, and Peter Berg. Despite its star-studded cast, the film received harsh reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 7% rating, calling the jokes “tired and unfunny,” while Metacritic scores it 20 out of 100. Critics like Roger Ebert described it as “a desperately unfunny gangster spoof.”

Despite poor reviews, the film was financially successful, earning over $24 million against an $11 million budget. It was released on VHS and DVD in May 2002.

Pattinson’s fondness for Corky Romano highlights how comedy can be subjective. Even a widely criticized film can leave a lasting impression. His reaction also shows that sometimes, the joy of a movie is about the moments that make you laugh uncontrollably.

Personally, I think it’s fun to see a serious actor like Pattinson openly love a movie most people hate. It reminds us that humor is personal and unpredictable. What do you think—have you ever loved a movie everyone else hates? Share your thoughts in the comments.
