Nintendo’s September 2025 Direct brought plenty of excitement for gamers. From new game reveals for the Switch 2 to updates on fan-favorite series like Mario and Metroid, the livestream was full of surprises. Here’s a roundup of the biggest announcements and highlights from the event.

1. Storm Lancers

Storm Lancers, a retro-inspired 2D action-platformer roguelike, is launching today exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Players can expect fast-paced action and challenging levels that test skill and reflexes.

2. Danganronpa 2×2

Danganronpa 2: Grave Despair is getting a full remake for Switch 2. Fans will dive into a tense murder-mystery, piecing together clues, analyzing alibis, and navigating dramatic trials to uncover the culprit.

3. Yoshi and The Mysterious Book

A new Yoshi adventure is coming to Switch 2. Yoshi and The Mysterious Book is set to launch in spring 2026, promising new worlds, puzzles, and the classic charm of the series.

4. Resident Evil Series

Capcom is bringing three Resident Evil titles to Switch 2. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil Village, and the new Resident Evil Requiem are all set to release on February 27, 2026.

5. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade

The Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade now has a release date. Fans can play it starting January 22, 2026.

6. Kirby Air Riders

Kirby Air Riders, the sequel to the 2003 GameCube classic, is coming to Switch 2 on November 20, 2025. Masahiro Sakurai returns to direct, delivering fast-paced racing action with Kirby.

7. Popucom

Via Via Gryph Frontier

Popucom is a puzzle-shooter that blends mechanics from Splatoon and Zuma. Coming to Switch this holiday season, the game focuses on cooperative play and teamwork challenges.

8. Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined

A full remake of Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is coming to both Switch and Switch 2 on February 5, 2026. Players can revisit the classic RPG with updated visuals and gameplay.

9. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will allow Samus to explore the world on a motorcycle, as revealed in the latest gameplay trailer. The game launches December 4, giving fans a fresh way to traverse its environments.

10. Mario Tennis Fever

The next Mario Tennis game is headed to Switch 2, featuring new slide and dive moves, Fever Rackets with special effects, and 38 playable characters. A story mode even transforms the cast into babies. It releases February 12, 2026.

11. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

Nintendo shared a new look at Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, the Mii-based simulation game. It’s scheduled for spring 2026 on Switch.

12. Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2

Two of the most beloved 3D Mario games are being remastered for Switch and Switch 2. The bundled collection launches October 2 and includes upgraded visuals and gameplay for both titles.

13. Virtual Boy Collection

Nintendo is reviving the Virtual Boy classics on Switch Online + Expansion Pack on February 17. Games like Mario’s Tennis, Galactic Pinball, and Teleroboxer will be playable, and there’s even a special shell to slot your console into for a retro experience.

14. Pokémon Pokopia

The shape-shifting Pokémon Ditto stars in Pokémon Pokopia, inspired by Dragon Quest Builders and Stardew Valley. It’s planned for Switch 2 in 2026.

15. Hades 2

Supergiant Games’ highly anticipated roguelike sequel, Hades 2, now has a release date. It arrives on September 25 for Switch, Switch 2, and Windows PC.

16. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

A new Zelda-themed hack-and-slash, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, is coming to Switch 2 on November 5.

17. Dinkum

Dinkum, a survival game inspired by the Australian wilderness, is coming as a timed exclusive for Switch. It launches on November 5.

18. PowerWash Simulator 2

PowerWash Simulator 2 lets players turn cleaning into fun and satisfying gameplay. It’s coming to Switch 2 in Fall 2025.

19. Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection

The digital release of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection arrives on Switch October 30, with a physical edition hitting stores December 12. Fans can relive classic battles and iconic characters.

20. DK Island & Emerald Rush

Donkey Kong Bananza gets two new DLC expansions on Switch 2. DK Island introduces a new area to explore, while Emerald Rush is a roguelike add-on where Donkey Kong collects green gems for Void Co. Emerald Rush is available today.

21. Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Pokémon Legends: Z-A launches soon, with post-release paid DLC called Mega Dimension. It introduces two Raichus with unique Mega Evolutions, adding new strategies and surprises for players.

22. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

23. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
