Fans of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire have more to look forward to. Its upcoming follow-up series, The Vampire Lestat, is now in production in Toronto and is set to premiere in 2026.

At New York Comic Con, the show’s producers and main cast gave fans an early taste of what’s to come, debuting an extended teaser trailer and announcing several new additions to the cast.

During the event, executive producers Johnson and Hannah Moscovitch were joined by returning stars Sam Reid (Lestat), Jacob Anderson (Louis), Eric Bogosian (Daniel), Assad Zaman (Armand), and Jennifer Ehle (Gabriela). Together, they teased what audiences can expect from the next chapter in Anne Rice’s vampire saga.

One of the biggest reveals from the panel was the casting of the ancient vampire queen Akasha, a highly anticipated role first portrayed by the late Aaliyah in Queen of the Damned. This time, The Woman King actress Sheila Atim will bring Akasha to life.

Fans also learned who will play members of Lestat’s rock band. Joining the cast are Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek) as Larry, Ryan Kattner (Destroy All Neighbors) as Salamander, Seamus Patterson (Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities) as Alex, and Sarah Swire (The Boys) as TC, short for Tough Cookie. Before Lestat’s transformation, the group performed together under the name “Satan’s Night Out.”

While footage of Akasha wasn’t shown yet, the new teaser did reveal brief glimpses of familiar faces, including Assad Zaman’s Armand, Delainey Hayles as Claudia, and what appears to be the vampire Bruce , possibly making one final appearance.

The panel also teased a crossover moment between Interview with the Vampire and AMC’s next supernatural series, Talamasca: The Secret Order. The scene shows Daniel Molloy meeting secretly with Talamasca agent Guy Anatole, played by Nicholas Denton, hinting at deeper connections within Anne Rice’s expanding TV universe.

With production underway and new storylines connecting these series, fans can expect more blood, drama, and gothic style when The Vampire Lestat finally arrives on AMC.
