Billie Eilish Tells Billionaires to “Give Your Money Away” at Music Innovator Awards, Zuckerberg Was Present
Billie Eilish took a bold moment during her award acceptance speech Wednesday night to challenge billionaires on their wealth.
The singer, who was being honored at the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards for her impact on music, used the opportunity to encourage the super-rich to give back, especially during times when people need support and empathy, according to People magazine.
Eilish revealed at the event that she plans to donate $11.5 million from her “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour to The Changemaker Program, which focuses on fighting climate change and addressing food insecurity. She urged everyone with money to use it for good. “Use it for good things and give it to some people that need it,” she said.
The singer also directly addressed billionaires in the audience. “Love you all, but there’s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me. If you are a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but give your money away, shorties,” she added.

Among those attending was Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, one of the world’s richest individuals with a net worth of $226 billion, who was there supporting his wife, Priscilla Chan, for her philanthropy work. According to an eyewitness, the audience responded with quiet laughter and applause, though Zuckerberg did not join in the clapping.
