David Corenswet Did Not Sign “Film Workers for Palestine” Pledge, Report Proven False
A recent report claiming that actor David Corenswet had signed the “Film Workers for Palestine” pledge has been proven false.
According to sources, Corenswet’s name was added by a troll weeks ago, and while the organization followed him on social media, “his” signature was never verified. It is still unclear whether Milly Alcock’s name was also added without her consent.
The pledge, launched on September 8, 2025, encourages actors, filmmakers, and production crews to avoid festivals and companies in Israel that the group says contribute to the ongoing conflict. Over 5,000 Hollywood figures have reportedly signed the pledge.
Among them are Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Tilda Swinton, Riz Ahmed, Javier Bardem, and Cynthia Nixon. Those who signed said they want to use their work to support peace and human rights.
However, the pledge has sparked division within the industry. Some actors and filmmakers have chosen not to sign, saying the situation is too complex or preferring to stay out of political statements. The disagreement has led to heated debates on social media, at film events, and even within movie productions. Hollywood now appears divided, with different artists taking varying stances on the conflict.
