Olivia Rodrigo Blasts Trump’s DHS for Using Her Song in Deportation Video
Olivia Rodrigo has made it clear she wants no connection to immigration raids carried out under Donald Trump’s administration. The singer spoke out after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) used one of her songs in a new video about self-deportation.
The video, posted on November 4 on Instagram in collaboration with the White House account, shows scenes of ICE officers detaining people of color while urging undocumented immigrants to leave the U.S. voluntarily. The message in the post read, “LEAVE NOW and self-deport using the CBP Home app. If you don’t, you will face the consequences.”
In the background, Rodrigo’s 2023 hit “All-American B***” can be heard playing. The song, from her album Guts, features the lyrics, “All the time, I’m grateful all the time, I’m sexy and I’m kind, I’m pretty when I cry.”
Rodrigo reacted directly to the video in the comments, calling out the agency for using her music without permission. “Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda,” she wrote.

The post sparked strong reactions online, with many of Rodrigo’s fans supporting her stance and criticizing the use of her song in what they saw as a politically charged message.
