Disney+ is planning to let users create their own short-form content using AI. The news came from Disney CEO Bob Iger during the company’s fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 earnings call.

He said Disney+ is “in the midst of rolling out the biggest and the most significant changes — from a product perspective, from a technology perspective — since we launched the service in 2019.”

Part of these changes will include some game-like features on Disney+. These are connected to Disney’s deal with Epic Games, which allows Disney characters and stories to be used on Epic’s platform.

But the big news is about AI. According to Iger, Disney+ will soon let users make and share their own AI-generated short-form content. “The other thing that we’re really excited about, that AI is going to give us the ability to do, is to provide users of Disney+ with a much more engaged experience, including the ability for them to create user-generated content and to consume user generated content — mostly short-form — from others,” he said.

Iger also mentioned that Disney has had “productive conversations” with some AI companies. He hopes Disney can make deals that protect its intellectual property while letting fans have fun with AI tools.

It looks like Disney is moving into the space of user-generated AI content, similar to what other platforms like OpenAI’s Sora are doing. Soon, you might be able to make your own Disney adventures without waiting for the next big movie.
