Man of Tomorrow, is moving forward and looking to add a new female character in a major role.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, the studio is scouting a young actress in her 20s for the part, sparking speculation that it could be Wonder Woman.

Gunn first revealed in June that he was writing a follow-up to Superman. While it wouldn’t be a direct sequel, Superman would remain central to the story. By August, DC CEO David Zaslav confirmed that Gunn would write and direct the next installment in the “Super-Family” series.

Gunn shared that he had finished a script treatment and described it as the next chapter in the “Superman Saga.” He added that Man of Tomorrow is scheduled for release on July 9, 2027, and that Henry Zaga and Nicholas Hoult are expected to return in their roles.

Gunn has also described the movie as “as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie,” explaining that the two characters will face off against a bigger threat together. Brainiac has been confirmed as the film’s main villain, and filming is expected to begin in Atlanta in April 2026.

In addition to the movie, Gunn has been exploring spin-off TV projects based on supporting characters from the film. In July, it was reported that he was considering shows centered on Terrific and Jimmy Olsen.

By November, a Jimmy Olsen series was officially announced for HBO Max, with Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda serving as writers and showrunners. The series will follow Olsen and other Daily Planet reporters as they investigate supervillains, with the first season focusing on Gorilla Grodd.

So far, Gunn has confirmed that Wonder Woman has not yet been cast. Fans have suggested several actresses for the role, including Jaimie Alexander, Adrianne Palicki, Ana de Armas, Adria Arjona, and Alexandra Daddario.
