Ariana Grande has shared that her upcoming Eternal Sunshine tour, starting next year, will be her last for a while. The 32-year-old singer said she wants to focus on other passions after years of her pop career taking up most of her life.

Speaking on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, Ariana called the tour “one last hurrah” and promised to give it her all. “I’m very excited to do this small tour. But I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time,” she said. “I’m going to give it my all, and it’s going to be beautiful, and I’m so grateful. I think that’s why I’m doing it. Because I’m like, one last hurrah. For now.”

The singer will be performing across the US and Canada next summer before heading to London for 10 nights at the O2 Arena.

Ariana said she decided to step back from touring after realizing how much her career had taken over her life. “For me, when I came into all of this, and my pop career sort of took over my life in a way, I didn’t have that at all,” she explained.

Ariana also talked about exploring other creative projects, including acting. She has recently played Glinda in the movie adaptation of Wicked and is currently filming Fockers In-Law with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. “It’s a role that I read the script [for] and I love it and it’s funny and I love the cast and I’m so excited,” she said.

“And then I’m going to do a small stint of shows next year because that is something that authentically sounded good to me. And then from there, there are other things that are different, and I think following those authentic impulses feels like a really good idea, like a good thing.”

Ariana first became famous as a teenager on Nickelodeon in Victorious and Sam & Cat. She later became a global pop star, releasing seven studio albums, seven UK No.1 singles, breaking streaming records, and winning two Grammy Awards.

Looking ahead, Ariana said the next decade of her life will focus on exploring different creative paths. “I feel very privileged and grateful to have learned that there can be room for different creative endeavours,” she said. “I think it will change a lot. I think the last 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up.”
