Rush Hour fans have something to be excited about. Paramount has officially agreed to make Rush Hour 4, the next chapter in the popular buddy-cop series.

The project has been in development for years, but it recently got a push from an unexpected source. According to Semafor, President Donald Trump personally asked the studio to bring back the franchise.

Brett Ratner, who directed the first three Rush Hour films, is set to return as director. Ratner’s career slowed down after #MeToo allegations in 2017, but he has stayed connected with high-profile figures. He became close to the Trump family while making the documentary Melania, which Amazon reportedly paid $40 million to release.

The Rush Hour films star Jackie Chan as Chief Inspector Lee from Hong Kong and Chris Tucker as LAPD Detective James Carter.

The series is known for combining martial arts, comedy, and the culture clash between East and West. The first three movies, released between 1998 and 2007, were big hits at the box office, even if critics had mixed feelings about them.

With Ratner back in the director’s chair and Paramount on board, fans can finally look forward to the next adventure of Lee and Carter. It’s still early, and details about the story or release date have not been shared, but the announcement marks a clear step toward bringing the franchise back to theaters.

This is a surprising but exciting move. Bringing Ratner back could be controversial, but longtime fans of the series will likely be thrilled to see Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker team up again. What do you think about Rush Hour 4 coming back? Share your thoughts in the comments.
